Neil Robertson (Ranked 9th) destroys Ken Doherty (Ranked 44th)

Grand Prix Results Amazing result. Ronnie O'Sullivan (Ranked World Number 1) knocked out by John Higgins (Ranked 4th) 4-5.

Ronnie opened well with a 131 but he won the next to frames before Ronnie could come back at him. Then at 4-3 up Ronnie had to watch as the match went away from him and Higgins took his game to the quarter finals.

The Rocket Ronnie O'Sullivan (Ranked World Number 1) Took out Jamie Burnett (Ranked 40th)


Ronnie was held to 2-2 but then pulled out a gap, to be fair he had the run of the balls but Jamie was unable to punish Ronnie when he had the chances. In the 7th frame Ronnie missed frame ball and Jamie made an impressive clear up to close the gap to 4-3. Ronnie closed the deal and the matched finished 5-3 putting Ronnie into the next round.

Joe Perry (Ranked 12th) opened his bid for the Glasgow Grand Prix title by beating Marcus Campbell (Ranked 45th) while Mark Selby (Ranked 7th) and Ken Doherty (Ranked 44th) fight it out on the other table.

Marko Fu (ranked 8th) and Mark Davis (ranked 47th) took their match to a deciding frame. In the end after chances for both players Davis won out and took the match 4-5.

Fantastic, the Snooker season is underway and everyone looks in grate form. After a start where players had injuries, Ronnie with a bad back and Mark Williams with a broken arm, things are off to a good start in Glasgow.


John Higgins (ranked 4 th) was off to a great start with a 5-1 win over Mark Joyce (ranked 57 th). Higgins is the local favourite for this event is through to the next draw, an FA cup style player draw to see who he will play. The match referee was Jan Verhass
